Taraba State Polytechnic is a state owned polytechnic by the Taraba state government. Taraba state government was Established in 1991 under the military rule of Naval Captain A.A Afolahan who presided over the state then.
The commencement of the institution and the launching of the institution began under the Administration of Reverend Jolly T Nyame who is considered the main force in the the successful launching of the polytechnic and also the full operation of the polytechnic by setting the necessary Requirement for admission of students into programme.
The Edict establishing Taraba state polytechnic was amended in 2012 by the state government of taraba state ensuring the establishment and survival in the democracy era of the country.
Taraba State Polytechnic is advancing having incorporated in the technical Education department of the college of Education jalingo and the staff development center to become college of Science and Technology and college of administrative and business studies in the polytechnic in 1994.
The polytechnic obhectives is driven to provide in course and workshop training for menbers of public and private sectors. The polytechnic is administered by the governing council, administration board and Management committee which is currently headed by Dr Ayuba Ibrahim Abarshi who serves as the current rector of the polytechnic.
