Dorben Polytechnic is a privately owned polytechnic that is located on Bwari-Gwaram Road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Dorben Polytechnic was established in the year 1999 in accordance with Decree 9 of 1993 that allows for the establishment of private polytechnics in Nigeria.
Dorben Polytechnic started not as Polytechnic first but rather as Abuja School of accountancy and Computer Studies in 1996,offering professional services until 1999 when the institution was granted approval by National Board for Technical Education(NBTE) to offer ND and HND programme in the institution.
In 2006 the institution changed from Abuja School of Accountancy and Computer to Dorben Polytechnic following the approval by the then minister of education.
Dorben Polytechnic, at the time of its establishment, commenced operation with just 250 students, and based on the 2024/2025 statistics, the polytechnic has grown to over 1,000 students and 183 academic staff, and also, to its record, it has produced over 10,000 HND and ND graduates.
Dorben Polytechnic is fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and its students can also go for the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) if all necessary requirements are met by the students. The polytechnic has a strong presence among private polytechnics in Nigeria.

Admission Requirements
● For the ND program, the candidate must have five (5) O-level credits in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
● ND candidates must have a minimum of 100 points in their UTME examination.
● Higher National Diploma Candidate must have a National Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit from a recognized polytechnic.
● HND candidates must present evidence of one year of post-industrial training experience.
