Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic (Kenule Benson Saro-Wiwa) is a state-owned polytechnic that is located in the Bori Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic was established in 1988 under the military regime and administration in River State. The institution was inaugurated the same year it was created by Colonel Anthony Ukpo, who was then the military head of state of River State.
Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic was initially set up and named River State Polytechnic, but it was renamed by the State Assembly of River to Kenule Benson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, commonly called Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, to honor one of Nigeria’s well-known activists and also one of the sons of Ogoni land.
Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic prides itself on being one of the founding polytechnics that is recognized for vocational training in Nigeria, and it is driven by its mission of covering professional teaching of skills that will be useful and relevant to modern-day society.
Ken Saro-Wiwa offers education skills in offering the ND program and also the HND program, including the part-time program, which is also to support working-class citizens in the state.
The polytechnic at a time in the past wanted to be converted to a university in 2009; this was a motion led by one of the senators in the state, but this did not later come through.

● Candidate must have 5 credit passes in WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB in not more than two sittings.
● Three (3) relevant subjects are required for each department except Mathematics and English Language, which are compulsory for all departments.
